Willpower has let you down.
So, you set a big goal, you worked your butt off to believe you could achieve it, you went to work and made it happen (success!), and then... if you're like most of us... you checked it off the list and moved on to the next thing with very little celebration or even acknowledgement.
When it comes to achieving our goals, we've had it backward! It's time to say, "Goodbye," to "I'll believe it when I see it," and say "Hello," to "I believe it so I WILL achieve it."
People are motivated to set goals and embark on change once the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain associate with change. Change is hard. It involves effort, energy and loss. And while pain will motivate us to get us started, we need something more to keep us going even when (especially when) we want to quit.
